After a long journey, a stroll through the village is the best way to relax and get moving. Entering through the porch of the Tour-Horloge du Caylar, you enter the old fortified enclosure of the village. In the central square is a sculpted tree representing the pastoral tradition of the Caussen fauna and flora. You can also take the Roc Castel walk and discover this site, which offers uninterrupted views over the surrounding countryside, with an ancient castral chapel and fortress at the summit. The Roc Castel is a must-see in Le Caylar. If you're with the family, the Theil animal park is a great place for young and old to observe the animals, follow the adventure trail or try to save the petrified animals in the magic forest. During your stopover in Le Caylar, you can also discover the Larzac plateau by visiting the Cirque de Navacelles, where you can admire breathtaking scenery.

First and foremost, Le Caylar is a strategic location at 750m altitude, sheltered by a rocky hill with a 360° panoramic view. It is also a crossroads between the Massif Central and the Languedoc plain, ideal for trade and thus for the local economy. Each period of history has left traces that are still visible today, and we invite you to discover them. The typical village is well worth a visit. There are many tourist attractions nearby.
